Refereeing of Grants and Scholarships
In the past I have been on the provincial selection panel for the Ontario
Graduate Scholarship Program. This involves reviewing approximately 100
applications each winter and, along with the two other panelists, ranking
the applications and preparing an award and a revision list.
I have served as a reviewer for the New Opportunities Fund of the Canadian
Foundation for Innovation. I was also a member of the Software Technologies
and Distributed Systems Research Review Panel of the Communications and
Information Technology Ontario (CITO). CITO is an Ontario Center of Excellence
which is funded by both industry and the provincial government. I reviewed
six applications and took part in the panel meeting that ranked the applications
based on research potential. I have also served on an NSF review panel
and acted as referee for an NSERC Strategic grant
