Libraries of
E-mail
An electronic search was done in mid-1999 on the key words "email or
electronic mail or e-mail". Searches were done in the ABI, PsychInfo,
Sociofile, and Social Sciences Index databases. These searches resulted in
1,524 references. The abstracts were reviewed to identify articles that
appeared to be based on empirical data and/or worth pursing for other reasons.
Fifty-five references were identified this way and these are listed in this
Endnote library: Email.ZIP
Virtual Work/Organizations
In mid-1998, electronic searches were done to identify articles relevant to
virtual work/telecommuting, and virtual organizations. This resulted in an
Endnote library of 506 references. In mid-1999, I compared my library with
Pascal Sieber's library on Felix
Tan's ISWorld Endnote Library website. Since there were only 29 duplicates,
I merged the two libraries together (and deleted the duplicates). The resulting
Endnote library (in zip format), made up of 751 references, is available here.
Trust
In early-1998, electronic searches were done on the subject of trust.
Specifically, articles on interpersonal trust and the role of trust in virtual
work were sought, although many general articles on trust were also included.
The resulting library (460 references, in zip format) is available here.
Teamwork
In mid-1999, searches were done to identify interesting articles on
teamwork. This resulted in a library of 1,233 references. The abstracts were
skimmed to identify those with empirical data and/or that appeared useful to my
purposes of becoming familiar with the state of the knowledge about non-virtual
teamwork. Sixty articles were identified this way. The full Endnote library (in
zip format) is available here. To see the selected
60 articles, search for "held" on Custom Field 1.
Leadership
In mid-1999, searches were done on the string "(transformational or
charismatic) and leadership" in the ABI, PsychInfo and Social Sciences
Index databases to identify relevant articles on leadership. This resulted in a
library of 561 references. The abstracts were skimmed to identify those with
empirical data and/or that appeared useful to my purposes of becoming familiar
with the state of the knowledge about different leadership styles. Forty-nine
articles were identified this way. The full Endnote library (in zip format) is
available here. To see the selected 49 articles,
search for "held" on Custom Field 1.
