About Us

Eclectricity is a trio of friends who have been making music together, off and on, for the last twenty years, finding time between numerous other projects to learn the odd song and play the odd gig. We pick songs we like to sing and don't much care which pigeonhole they emerge from -- hence the name and hence the repertoire, which ranges haphazardly through the best work of the best songwriters we know, with a few of our own tunes thrown in to season the stew.

On this CD we are accompanied by several of our local and not-so-local musical friends; Bob's sister did the cover, and his brother played fiddle and mandolin.

Georgette Fry
Georgette Fry's first CD, Rites of Passage, was in 1996 nominated for a Juno award in the Best Blues/Gospel Recording category. She released her second CD, Georgette Live, in 1997. In the past couple of years, Georgette has appeared at many of the major Canadian music festivals, and has toured in western Canada and South Africa. She won Jazz Report Magazine's Blues Artist of the Year award in 1997.
  Grant Heckman
Grant Heckman's other recent recordings include Wild Blues Yonder (1995) and Blue Monday (1996). He produced and played on Georgette Fry's Rites of Passage and co-wrote, with Jim Garrard, the new musical Sir John, Eh?, which was presented in 1996 and 1997 at the Kingston Summer Festival, where Grant has for the past four years been Musical Director.
Bob Robertson
Bob Robertson's recent work includes performing and producing credits on Night Sun's Home, Kevin Head's Hear Them Callin', Blue Monday, and Georgette Fry's Rites of Passage.
