Varied Thrush nest, Deadhorse Pass, Alaska

Research

We are fascinated by a broad array of questions in biology, including how closely related species interact and coexist, how new species are formed, and what causes high tropical diversity.

The main research foci in our lab are:

Species Interactions & Coexistence

Population Differentiation & Speciation

Latitudinal Variation in Diversity

Natural History of Birds

We also frequently collaborate on projects outside of our research foci, including studies of physiological adaptation in birds (Fran Bonier).
