Domino Theatre Inc. presents “Pyrenees” by David Greig as the second show of the season

David Greig is a renowned Scottish playwright who has had numerous plays produced in Glasgow, Edinburgh and London. Plaines Plough a noted theatre touring company in England commissioned 8 outstanding playwrights to think about English as a language and how it shapes our identity. Pyrenees is one of those plays.

A man is found in the snow in the Pyrenees mountains, he remembers nothing of his former life. He has no identification and has a satchel full of euros. A woman is dispatched from the British Consulate to confirm his identity. When an elegant woman arrives claiming to be his wife, the world he was discovering becomes unrecognizable.

This play is a suspenseful look at how language shapes our identity.

Bruce Downey designed the set, Stuart Payne is lighting the set, Katie Flower- Smith is designing the sound and Frances Berry is designing costumes.

“Pyrenees” opens at the Baby Grand Theatre on Thursday October 21st, 2010 and plays Thursday to Saturday until November 6th. There is also a performance on Tuesday November 2nd. Curtain time is 8 pm. Tickets are available at $18 each plus Grand Theatre charges through the Grand Theatre box office at 218 Princess Street or by telephone at 613-530-2050. Tickets are also available at the box office on the evening of the performance subject to availability. Members, Seniors and Student tickets are $14 each plus the Grand Theatre charges at the door on Thursdays, again subject to availability.
