Religion and Violence

Content:

The course addresses theories and examples concerning the relationship between religion and violence. Cases will be drawn from myths, rituals and history of Christian, Hindu, and aboriginal civilizations. Analytical approaches will draw on theories about ritualized violence from anthropological, sociological, feminist and psychoanalytic perspectives.
