Dr. Daniel Lefebvre

Laboratory-fadedbrushed

In the early 1990’s Dr. Lefebvre’s research in the molecular biology of nutrition in plants contributed to the formation in 1995 of the biotechnology company Performance Plants Inc. with colleagues from the Biology Department at Queen’s University. He worked in the company as Vice President from 1995 to 2003 working on R & D projects and liaising with companies and government agencies involved in agriculture worldwide. Several patents were obtained based on his university research. Dr. Lefebvre returned to academia full time in 2003, but still retains ties to Performance Plants Inc. which is located in Kingston, Ontario, Canada. His teaching includes genetics to undergraduate students as well as applied biology (e.g. bioremediation) to both undergraduate and graduate students.
