This form of squeeze is a combination of two blocked simple squeezes, with a blocked double menace. The standard form, illustrated above, is a simultaneous squeeze, each opponent being squeezed in turn when the club A is cashed. There are also, despite Kelsey's incautious claim, some jettison double squeeze possibilities.

Variations

As with the blocked simple squeeze, there are several possible variations on the same theme, although naturally far fewer than with the simple squeeze. Four of these variant positions are automatic, working if the opponents hands are interchanged. In the first two positions, which are non-simultaneous, the North hand has one or more idle cards, which must lie in the suits of the single threats (otherwise the hand is not blocked after all).

South leads a club winner, and West is forced to discard a spade (if West discards a heart, then North throws diamonds on both club winners, and the North hand is then high). After West discards a spade, North discards hearts on both club winners, and East is squeezed in spades and diamonds. Since North's discard on the second last club is determined by West's discard, this squeeze would not work if the East-West hands were interchanged.
