This ending combines the elements of three possible positional simple squeezes; in each case, the inconvenient winner in the third threat spoils the simple squeeze. South's cards outside of the free suit are all idle, except that there must be an entry to at least one of North's three threats. There are two variations, in which one or more of the threats is moved to the South hand, forming a split positional menace.

2) One split threat:

In all cases, the squeeze is obviously positional, working only against the player to the left of the squeeze card. In practice, it will almost always be possible to unblock at least one of the winners in the North hand, reducing the position to a simple squeeze.
