Siberian Huskies are affectionate, high-energy dogs who originated in the arctic and were used as sled dogs. They are a "double-coated" breed, with a thick under coat of soft fur and longer, coarser guard hairs. They will shed profusely in the spring and fall, unspayed bitches sometimes shedding more often.
This breed requires a great deal of exercise, and often don't get along well with cats. They are otherwise friendly and good-tempered.
