MUSC 188 - Guitar Techniques and Methods

This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of the guitar for students intending to teach in a class setting. Students will be introduced to various notational systems, basic technique and methods for classical, flamenco and jazz guitar, and strategies for arranging music for guitar ensembles. Evaluation will consist of solo and group performances, a written exam and an arrangement for guitar ensemble. It is expected students will provide their own instruments.

To be offered in 2004/2005, Mondays and Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30pm.

Both books will be available in the Campus Bookstore in September, 2004.
