Jeff Hanlon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Queen's University and a Master's degree in Guitar Performance from Yale University.
He has appeared as a soloist at music festivals in Rome, Los Angeles and the Banff Centre for the Arts. In 2001, his debut performance of Juaquin Rodrigo's Concierto de Aranjuez with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra was hailed for a "poignancy rarely heard".
As a chamber musician, he has appeared with John Palumbo, flute, at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa, and with the Amsterdam-based Suggia Ensemble during their 2001 North American tour. A proponent of new music, he has twice performed for New Music New Haven, a concert series at Yale University dedicated to the promotion of contemporary works, and has broadcast live on National Public Radio in Connecticut, USA.
Jeff Hanlon performs regularly in cities across Ontario and the United States. He teaches guitar and chamber music in the School of Music at Queen's University.
