The Eastern Ontario Drama League is an umbrella organization representing community theatres from Haliburton to Cornwall to Cobourg. Two festivals are held each year providing theatre groups the opportunity to learn and improve their skills through professional adjudications. The Full-Length Festival is held in the spring and the One-Act Festival in the fall.

Each year, the EODL awards the Thérèse May Scholarship to a young member of one of our groups who intends to pursue a Theatre Arts related program. To nominate a member, contact the President, Andy Trasuk.

Domino Theatre wins 5 awards at the Theatre Ontario Festival

Held in London May 19-23, Domino Theatre presented Doubt by John Patrick Shanley on Saturday night wining 5 awards.

The 5 awards are:

• Sandie Cond - Best Actress for her powerful and nuanced performance as "Sister Aloysius"
• Steve Vanvolkingburgh - Best Set Design, a multi level set that provided a beautiful display of settings for the different locations of the action
• Frances Berry - adjudicators directing award for careful and clear direction of the transformative moments of the characters
• Tammara Thomas - adjudicators acting award for a lovely performance of a small but pivotal role as Mrs. Muller
• The Technical Team - adjudicators award for the beautifully orchestrated mix of sound, lights, and multimedia
