Queen's University ~ Biology 103

NEED HELP?

Lecture Material
There is a lot of material in the lectures, readings, and labs. You MUST keep up with the material along the way - don't wait until April! Focus on key concepts for each lecture or lab. Use the review tools available in each chapter and on the textbook website. There are many different approaches to the challenging tasks of taking concise notes, and integrating lecture content with textbook content. There are lots of tips available from help centres both on and off Queen's campus (see tips on Bio 103 web page, such as HERE and HERE). If you are having a hard time understanding the stuff that we present in lecture or readings for our lectures, then please ask for help by contacting the appropriate professor.

Laboratory Exercises
For basic questions about labs or course logistics (schedules, due dates, marks, missed assignments, illness etc.) contact lab instructor Rob Snetsinger first. Rob will refer you to a prof if he can't help. For specific questions about a lecture, contact the prof who gave that lecture.

For specific questions about labs, first ask your TA, and then speak to Rob Snetsinger if required.

If you are in doubt about the expectations for the labs, ask your TA or Rob before submitting your work!

If you still need help, contact Dr. Boag as Biol 103 coordinator. If that doesn't help, contact the Biology Chair of Undergraduate Studies (Dr. Adam Chippindale), and then the Head of Biology (Dr. Mel Robertson).
